A favourite wedding image

A favourite wedding image

I hope to explain something about the way that I work and what I’m looking for to make an image stand out in my series “A Favourite Wedding Image”.

I’m new too worried about whether an image is technically perfect of not. I am more interested in the composition, light and moment than any other aspect.

Here’s an image made at Craig and Lauren’s wedding in Malcesine on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy.

The first thing I love is the natural light. Walking out of the shadows the alleyway into the light highlights them. Their natural and unposed expressions add to the elegant feel of their walk. The little girl on the right is a great layer, transported away from her ice cream and in awe of the beautiful bride.

Composition, moment and light. All present. It’s exactly this sort of image that I look to capture when documenting a wedding. A witness to your day, events preserved forever in your wedding album.

I’ve photographed weddings from the UK and Ireland to Australia. Each wedding is a bespoke project and it requires a lot of detailed planning. I plan all my weddings meticulously. It’s ok and natural for things not to run on time and sometimes the plans change in the blink of an eye.

I’m entirely flexible and nothing is going to be a problem. We’re talked at length and planned everything together. I don’t rush or brush over meetings and I’ll always come back to you if there’s something I need to know or have confirmed. That’s the only way to be chilled and relaxed on the day, knowing that everything (like the photography) is taken care of. Nothing to worry about except the two of you.

If you’d like me as your photographer at your wedding, please don’t hesitate to contact me here today. I’d love to hear your plans.
